IMessage is an iOS lock-in app used in sending and receiving messages but it can also be used to send messages to IPhone users. Over the years, a lot of developers have been trying to create an app with such a feature. There are a lot of apps that offer the same features IMessage offer. Features like end-to-end encryption, file transfers, and even cross-platform support. Now IMessage is not going to make you stuck with IPhone as long as you are using iOS or Mac.
Android users that has iMac or Mac Book are now happy because PieMessage Has brought iMessgae to their devices. Although it’s an unofficial Apple software, it’s an open-source project that lets you enjoy all the features of iMessage on an Android phone.
The app uses a server to route messages to an Android device from a Mac. The Mac handles all the Workload. As for incoming text, Mac routes it the android device trough the server.
The source code of the App is hosted on GitHub. As it has been a software which people now love, we pray that Apple doesn’t block the functionality of this software that helps us stay in touch with family and friends who use iPhone.
There are still other popular apps that perform the same functions. These apps can serve as alternatives to each other. WhatsApp, Facebook Messenger,Viber still offers end-to-end just like iMessage.
PieMessage has some limitations
You will not be able to reply to one-to-one messages from your Android device but you cannot send group messages but you can just receive them.
Also, you cannot send images and cannot see when someone is typing — though the author of the app says more functionality will be added in the future
PieMessage identifies different iMessage conversations by phone numbers or email addresses instead of by their names.
