BlackBerry also known as Research in Motion has released video calling capabilities for their instant messaging Android app called BBM. This update to users in the U.S. and Canada users. They just rolled out the beta version which is not compatible with all devices. Hence, the stable version will be released soon.
“Please note we’re initially limiting availability because this is the first time we’re launching BBM Video calling,” BlackBerry explains. “We want to monitor performance, gather feedback, and iron out any kind that may arise before we roll it out globally.”
To use the BBM Video option, you will just see the video calling option when you choose a contact in BBM to make a call. Only devices running on Android 4.4 KitKat or above can make use of this feature

BlackBerry will soon announce the beta version for iOS users, hence, making cross-platform calls a reality. If all parameters regarding the test work out fine, they will be releasing this feature globally in July 2016.
BlackBerry says that it decided to add video calling because a lot of users are opting in for it. Some research we made regarding video call, we discovered that, the number of adults who make use of video calls has increased from 33 percent in 2014 to 47 percent in 2015.
